WILDERNESS
SITES
Truly
undeveloped and private, these wilderness sites are situated in
the fields and meadows of the dark sky preserve in the interior
of the park. This area is accessible by private road back to the
site. Amenities include picnic tables, clean privies, designated
campfire pits, children's playground, astronomy observatory, Baden
Powell Grove, fossil hunting, birdwatching, picnic shelter, and
access to a network of educational hiking trails. These sites are
great for astronomers, bird watchers, naturalists and campers who
love the peace and solitude of a quiet nature environment.
